Due to high demand and limitations on the no of the visitors, the tickets will be sold out immediately when the booking is opened. So, here we will see what are all the pre-requisites for in getting your ticket and so on.

The Kerala Forests & Wildlife department will grant permissions for visitors to trek in the second week of January every year for 45 days for seasonal trekking as 3 days package. Off-seasonal trekking may be allowed after the end of seasonal trekking at the increased price however, off-seasonal tickets can be booked in offline mode only by visiting the forest department office. The details of the seasonal trekking announcement will be published in their official website and in-addition to that, such details will be published in the major newspapers in the state of Kerala.

However, 100 persons per day who are aged above 18 years are only allowed to trek. Visitors can book their tickets either in online by visiting their official site forest.kerala.gov.in or by offline mode by visiting PTP Nagar Forest office, Trivandrum (Wildlife Warden Contact No. +91-471-2360762).

Out of tickets for 100 persons allowed per day, tickets for 70 persons only allocated for online booking and remaining 30 are meant for offline booking. Usually offline booking will be allowed a day before your planned trekking date. In one ticket, you can add upto 5 persons. Presently, as of 2024 they have fixed the ticket rate of Rs.2500.00 (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred) per person and the price does not include the cost food which is to be borne by the visitors separately. And for off-seasonal tickets, the price ranges from Rs.4000.00 to Rs.5000.00 and it includes the food.

Details required for getting the Trekking Tickets are (for both online and offline method) as follows,

  • Any one of the Government issued ID proof, Passport size photo while booking in online
  • Original ID Proof is to be carried while trekking
  • Insurance and medical fitness certificate from the doctor in the prescribed format
